Always do your best

Painting is a trade that I love. From a very young age(14),I have been involved with, and working in the field, doing every aspect of coatings that you could think of.Industrial, deck and joist, dryfall, auto plants, water treatment facilities, chemical manufacturers, pipes, machines, block filling, epoxies of every type, confined spaces, military bases, hospitals, office buildings, commercial, residential, new construction, repaints, maintenance coatings, high quality wood work, laquers, extream height, swing stage,lifts,etc.. I'm sure I have left alot of facets out. But my point is this. I make my living providing a service that is basically applying protective coatings to things of value so they will last. I am often suprised at those who would want to give anything less than there best. To me this business is self cleansing. If you are no good at what you do, have a bad attitude or you are just a crook! You will eventually run out of companys to work for, or if you are a contractor you will no longer have any customer. If you don't enjoy what you do and want to be the best at it. Do us all a favor including yourself and find a new career. I have to remember that most people have no idea what is involved in painting and they probably assume that all contractors are trying to rip them off. I am very proud of our trade it has put alot of bread on the table for me and my family. My name and reputation are stamped on each and every project we do. So in order for me to continue to do what I know best. I must continue do the best that I can.
